Accessible PDFs for every customer

Contracts, statements, terms and forms that people who use screen readers can read in the right order. We tag your documents, a person checks every file, and you get the accessibility declaration that lists them.

  • EN 301 549
  • European Accessibility Act

  1. Heading level 1, Account opening form
  2. Heading level 2, Personal details
  3. Edit text, Full name

Most PDFs can't be read aloud

A scanned page is a photo of text, so a screen reader finds nothing to read. An untagged export is only a little better. The reader jumps between columns, gets lost in tables and announces every image as "graphic".

That shuts out a blind customer reading their contract. It shuts out someone with dyslexia who listens to the terms instead of reading them. Most organisations don't know which of their files have the problem. We check every one and tell you.

For organisations that publish documents

If your customers need a document to sign, pay, claim or decide, it has to work with a screen reader.

Which rules apply

  • European Accessibility Act

In Portugal, Decree-Law 82/2022 has applied the European Accessibility Act since 28 June 2025. It covers services such as consumer banking, e-commerce, electronic communications, passenger transport and e-books. Micro-enterprises that provide services are exempt.

  • Decree-Law 83/2018

Public bodies, and private schools with public funding, must make their websites and the documents on them accessible.

Whether a given PDF is in scope is a question for your legal team. What we deliver is the technical side: documents tagged to PDF/UA and EN 301 549, and a declaration that lists them.

How it works

  1. Send us your files

We sign a data processing agreement first. Then you share a folder with the PDFs.

  2. We fix them

Our tool tags the headings, reading order, tables, lists, image descriptions, language and title of each document. Someone on our team checks every file before it goes back.

  3. You replace the old files

You get the fixed PDFs and a short report of what changed in each one.

  4. Add the declaration if you want it

We write an accessibility declaration listing the documents, ready to publish.

Your files and your customers' data

Your documents often hold names, contacts and financial details. We sign a data processing agreement before you send anything. We use your files only to fix them, and we delete them as soon as we deliver. If you need changes later, send the file again.

Website audits and training

PDFs are often where accessibility work starts. When you want your website checked, we do that too.

Ask about an audit
  • Website accessibility audit

Manual and automated testing against WCAG 2.2, RGAA and RAWeb, with screenshots and fix instructions for every issue. We also review audits done by others.

  • Training

Workshops for the people who write your documents and pages, so new files come out accessible from the start.

Understand the standards

Accessibility standards can be hard to navigate. Our knowledge base cross-references WCAG, RGAA and RAWeb so you can find the guidance you need in one place.

Frequently asked questions

Are we legally required to do this?

It depends on what you do. The European Accessibility Act covers services such as consumer banking, e-commerce, electronic communications, passenger transport and e-books. In Portugal it applies through Decree-Law 82/2022, since 28 June 2025. Public bodies are covered by Decree-Law 83/2018. Your legal team decides which documents are in scope. Either way, customers who use screen readers need to read them.

What counts as a page?

Each page of the PDF. A 12-page contract is 12 pages.

Which standards do you follow?

PDF/UA (ISO 14289) and clause 10 of EN 301 549, the European standard for documents, which applies WCAG 2.1 AA.

How long does it take?

Automated remediation takes one working day per 300 pages, from when we receive the files. For reviewed pages, your quote confirms the date.
